Still in Miami....

We have been in Miami since February 1st and I have not had ANY time to update the blog or upload photos, but hopefully I will soon. Just wanted to say hello from the Sunshine State and let everyone know that the van Herksen Family has had a great time and we have a couple of days left to enjoy the beach and sunny weather.

Luka is loving all his new friends and playing with his cousins. Sam is growing like a weed down here...he has gained about 5 pounds and grown at least an inch or more! It is amazing what happens when you bring a baby down from the high altitude. Everyone said he would grow, but I didn't expect this. He also was baptized, crawled for the first time and started standing up and cruising along the furniture here.

I will have many stories and pictures to share once we get home. Here is a photo of Samy that was taken by mistake, but I love it!

We are a wild and crazy bunch, well not exactly, but Luka does love to dance any chance he gets. Here he is showing off his moves on Lincoln Road in South Beach during our Miami Holiday.

Sam's Baptism Celebration

Sam's Baptism was such a beautiful day. From having a private ceremony at my uncle's church to the visitors we had from all over the world. It was truly a day to remember and here is a photo book I created from that special day.

All of the grand kids from Miami have been baptized in February and Sam was no exception. February is such a perfect month for weather in Miami that we can never go wrong. As you can see in the photo book Sam was baptized at St. Francis de Sales in South Beach. My uncle, Father Gabriel, is the pastor there. We had the party in the parish hall, everything was just perfect.

Sam has two godfathers...of course I have to be original. By the way Luka has two godmothers. One of the godfathers is Wole (my sister's husband) and Jaco. Jaco is JJ's colleague front he ministry and one of his very best friends. Can you believe that he and his wife traveled all the way from South Korea for this blessed event! They weren't the only ones that needed a passport to come to Sam's baptism. Anniek (JJ's sister) and Thomas (her boyfriend) also made the trip to Miami. It was a truly special day.

And my family, all from Miami, were there in full force...of course. Go ahead and browse through the book and see what a memorable day it was.

Ouch!

This photo was taken at Miami Children's Hospital. This was Sam's first emergency visit to the hospital. He had a little accident at Target while we were in Miami. We were actually just about to leave Target to head to my mom's house where there was a house full of people in a party waiting to meet Sam for the first time. Needless to say that we got there a little late, but thank goodness Sam was okay. Mommy on the other hand was a mess, but it all worked out in the end.
